Beginners Photography Course

This 4 week part time course is specifically aimed at the photographer that is new to using a DSLR. It covers the basics of photography and teaches the user to shoot in manual mode, thereby giving them control of the end result of their images.

 

The first lesson starts with the basic operation of your camera, including changing colour balance settings, focusing, light meter modes and the setting of aperture and shutter speed. The second lesson familiarizes the user with lenses and the practical uses of each different type of lens. The third lesson aims to familiarize you with the principles of  flash as well as the use of filters. During the fourth lesson you will be taught  composition and the important role that it plays in achieving a successful photograph.

 

Students will be taken through the course step by step, gaining knowledge to ensure that you consistently produce excellent photographs. You will be required to complete assignments during the course to put into practice all that you have learnt.

 

This comprehensive course covers all the basic building blocks in photography and is the perfect all round beginners course. Once you have completed this course you will have the freedom to move on to advanced classes and choose your own specific field of specialization.

I do not teach large groups at a time. I generally keep groups below 4 people and very often one on one. This way the attendee is never intimidated by other attendees and the teaching is personal, making it possible to learn as easily as possible.
